Ich las gerade das Textbuch von dieser Passion (eine sehr schöne). Nebenbei hörte ich die Musik.
Da las ich plötzlich "Mayr does not limit himself to conceiving the musical element but allows himself a slight, but significant revision of the text. The Latin tradition of the Passion for the Phrase "Eli, Eli lamma sabacthani?" became "Deus meus, utquid dereliquisti me?" later passing into Italian as "My God why you have abandond me?" Based on the most reliable Greek version of the Gospels, Mayr substituted the "utquid" (why) with "ad quid" (in this situation), producing a disturbing change in the spirit of the phrase.
Ganz grob zusammengefaßt also: Mayr ersetzte das "Warum hast Du mich verlassen" durch "Warum hast Du mich in dieser Lage verlassen".
Jetzt dürfen die Pfarrer und Pastors sich äußern. Welcher Text ist besser?
Für mein Gefühl ist übrigens überhaupt verlassen sein schlimmer, als unter bedingten Umstände. Aber das ist rein gefühlsmäßig.
